Kara's Persuasive Book-talk on

William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice

  1. I watched the video about The Merchant of Venice by Kara Yogan. It was rather long and contained a lot of information. Kara spoke with confidence and tone. I don't think I would read this book because as Kara said you would need a book with notes to understand the text.

  2. The overall presentation was very well said. Kara made good eye contact, and spoke clearly. The book does sound very interesting, but I don't think I would read this book. The way Shakespeare uses words makes his stories hard to follow; I've never really been a fan of his work.

  3. I watched Kara's video on the Merchent of Venice. Kara's video was very nicely planned and eye contact was very good. Also the tone of her voice was exciting and attention catching. I love the plot of the story, it sounds like something that I would enjoy. But a reason I would not read this book would be because of Shakespeares difficult language and I dont't know if I would be able to follow and confusing events.

  4. I watched Kara's presentation in The Merchant of Venice. She did a great job of making eye contact, and barely glanced at the notecards. I read The Merchant of Venice last year, and Kara's description of it was spot-on.

  5. Wow Kara, you sound like a tv announcer. (that's a good thing) I read a shakespeare book too, and I agree on getting one with notes. It really helps. I thought you remained very calm, and the supense in your voice just killed me. You made me want to read this book so bad!

  6. Good job Kara! You spoke very clearly, and had good eye contact. Your description of the book was very interesting, and I might read this one day! The Merchant of Venice seems very intereting and full of drama, but might be a little hard to understand. But I still think that it'll be a good book to read.

  7. i thought you did a really good job Kara. You rarelyy used your notecard and your voice was very clear. Your description of the plot makes the book sound very interesting. After viewing this, it could make the non loving Shakespear people read this story.

  8. You did a really good job, Kara. It seemed extremely interesting how you emphasized some parts of the plot. It seems like a Shakespeare's book worth reading, but then again, which of his books aren't? You were also very good with your speaking skills and didn't have to refer to your notecard as much.

  9. Nice job Kara! I have to say that I loved that fact that you changed camera angles! The small things are what make a presentation. Your eye contact and expression were excellent and you excelled in summarizing this play. The fact that you picked a Shakespeare play made me even more impressed. I would definitely give this play a try if I have the chance.
